About Us

Welcome to our blog for language lovers around the globe. Out of spacers are also welcome. It’s all about communication, so let’s all be silent for five minutes. Shhhh………

We are not shutting you up, we are talking to you in silence. Are you listening? Can you hear us? We believe silence is as powerful as words. Maybe even more powerful. What do you think?

Our next blog will be solely about silence. This one is dedicated to words.

“When ideas fail, words come in very handy,” (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe).

Hi! Shalom! We are Pnina and Liat, two bilingual language lovers.

Our first names have meanings in Hebrew (our native tongue): Pnina (biblical name) means “pearl”, in the Old Testament she was one of Elkanah’s wives, and Liat (pronounced like FIAT, Modern Hebrew) means “you are mine”.

Liat has established her formal relationships with languages long ago. She has a B.A. in Theoretical Comparative Linguistics and an M.A. in Translation. Pnina, on the other hand, preferred to indulge in a variety of other fields: she is a law graduate (LL.B) first degree in Law, B.A. in Arts (Theatre major) and M.A. in Psychodrama. She wasn’t aware of the fact that she has actually been fooling around with words on a daily basis. That is where Liat came in…

We teamed up and decided to construct this blog, much to our delight. We enjoy it so much so we added another blog to our life about Tel Aviv, you are most invited to visit.

We owe a big thank you to Rosalind Gardner who guided us along the road to affiliate programs.
